Message from the Athletic Director...

Welcome to The Seven Hills School Athletics homepage.  We are proud of the effort our athletes and coaches put into their seasons, and their representation of our community.

High school athletics represent much, much more than the wins and losses that are shown in the standings, or the statistics that we post on the league sites.

The Seven Hills Athletic Department strives to provide quality programs that provide our athletes the opportunities to compete in the Miami Valley Conference and in state competition.

Our coaches and athletes invest many hours through training and games, and work cooperatively to ensure our Seven Hills teams consistently represent our communities as positive ambassadors.

Positive sportsmanship and  respect for our opponents should not only be a goal of the athletes in the game, but of the spectators as well.

We hope you will join us in supporting our athletes at a contest at the outstanding facilities our community members have helped us provide to our athletes. Respect the Game and, as always.......GO Stingers!!!

Seven Hills Announces New Head Boy's Soccer Coach
Dear Seven Hills Community,

As many of you know, for the last several weeks, we have engaged in a search for a head coach to lead our varsity boys soccer program.  After reviewing the credentials of a great many applicants and speaking in person to a number of the most promising candidates, we have decided that the strongest candidate is a member of our own community.  It is with great excitement that I announce the appointment of  Nick Francis to this new role.

Nick emerged as a clear-cut first choice based both on his soccer and coaching experience and his deep understanding of this community and of our athletic philosophy.

As most of you know, Nick has served as the head coach for the varsity girls program since 2008.  He also served as the assistant varsity and head JV boys coach from 2000-2007.  Before coming to Seven Hills, Nick coached boys and girls soccer teams at Northwest High School in Greensboro, North Carolina between 1991 and 2000.

Nick played four years of college soccer at Loughborough University in England, where he earned a BS in exercise and sport science with a teaching certificate specializing in physical education.  He then went on to earn his MS in sport psychology, working with athletes in several high schools (including Seven Hills) and colleges.   Nick has also earned the English Football Association Preliminary Coaching Badge as well.

Over the last sixteen years, Nick has demonstrated his commitment to Seven Hills in several different capacities, first as a teacher of physical education and health, then as chair of the physical education department, then, for seven years, as the Head of the Upper School and two as the Director of Experiential Learning.

Those of you who know him know that Nick is a teacher and coach of unimpeachable character.  We are thrilled to have secured such an accomplished and capable coach for our boys soccer program.  Please join me in congratulating Nick and supporting him in his new role.

Sincerely,

Brian Phelps

Seven Hills Announces New Head Girl's Soccer Coach
Dear Seven Hills Community,

I am very excited to announce that Physical Education teacher and assistant girls varsity soccer coach Erin Wierzba will be taking over the role of head coach of our girls varsity soccer program, effective immediately.  The position became available when head coach, Nick Francis, was hired as the varsity boys head soccer coach.

We are very excited to have Erin on board to take over this very important role in our athletic program.  Many of you know about the many roles Erin has successfully filled here at Seven Hills.  In addition to teaching physical education classes in our Upper School, Erin has coached Middle School girls basketball, Upper School softball, and has served, for the last two years, as Nick’s assistant coach for the girls varsity soccer team.

In addition, Erin brings to us substantial previous coaching experience before coming to Seven Hills.  Erin served as the head coach of the girls varsity soccer program at her previous school, Atlanta Girls’ School and held that role at AGS for three years.  All through high school and college, she coached youth soccer and ran multiple youth camps throughout Ohio and Ontario, Canada.  Erin holds a US Soccer National E Coaching License.

She also brings substantial experience as a college athlete. During her college years, Erin played for a Division I program at University of Toledo, where she served as captain during her junior and senior years.  She was an All-Conference first team selection and won two Mid-American Conference regular season championships, two Mid-American Conference tournament championships and played in the NCAA tournament during two different seasons as well.

We are thrilled to have such an accomplished and capable coach to take over this important program.  Please join me in congratulating Erin and in supporting her in her new role.

Sincerely,

Brian Phelps
