Stingers Go Third, Fourth at State Tennis Tournament

The boys varsity tennis team had an excellent showing at the state tournament. Sophomore Adi Nayak finished third in the state and senior Avi Mahajan finished fourth. The doubles team of senior Gavin Isakovand junior Chinmay Machavaram also competed. At the district tournament in mid-May, Mahajan took first, Isakov and Machavaram took second in doubles, and Nayak finished third.

Track Competes at State Meet

The co-ed varsity track and field team had an excellent post-season run with four members competing at the state tournament. The girls 4×200 relay team of sophomores Claire Bachelder and Amelia Schnirring and seniors Callie Drew and Margret Schnirring competed at the state tournament, finishing in 14th. The relay team finished fifth at the regional tournament, qualifying for state and setting a new school record of 1:45.91. Stingers competed in 12 events at the regional tournament. The team broke three school records at the district tournament. Junior Brady O’Connor set a new record of 17.23 in the 110 meter hurdles and sophomore Malcom Faison set a record of 42.76 in the 300 meter hurdles. The 4×100 relay team of Drew, Margret Schnirring, Amelia Schnirring, and freshman Zora Simpson set the new record at 51.15.

Baseball competes in Sectional Tournament

The boys varsity baseball team made it to the second round of the sectional tournament. The Stingers defeated Sabina 6-0 in the first round.

Girls Lacrosse Beats Summit in Post-Season

The girls varsity lacrosse team made it to the second round of the regional tournament. The Stingers advanced through the first round after a spectacular defeat of Summit Country Day 14-12.

Three Stingers Earn All-Star Awards

Three Seven Hills student athletes have been chosen for the Enquirer All Star Awards, which honors the Cincinnati Enquirer’s top choices for athletes, coaches, and teams of the school year from Southwest Ohio, Northern Kentucky, and Southeast Indiana. Seniors Charlie Mullin and Julia Zhu were chosen for golf and junior Everett Rinaldi was chosen for soccer. The students will be honored at a ceremony on June 17.
