Beekeepers Show Leadership at Doherty

This year, the Doherty fifth graders have been learning about leadership in their guidance class with Doherty counselor Angie Bielecki. The fifth graders were bestowed a new role this year as the Beekeepers of their Hives, the multiage buddy groups that include students in kindergarten through fifth grade. The Beekeepers lead the community-building activities, like playing board games and decorating thank you cards, at each monthly meeting of the Hives. 

In Bielecki’s class, the fifth graders prepare and discuss how to be strong leaders and practice problem solving around potential difficulties so they can gain confidence in their leadership skills.
