Books for Lunch
March 11, 2025

On Feb. 7, Upper School students met the world-renowned author Colm Tóibín when he visited the Hillsdale Campus. Tóibín engaged students during his speech with tales of how he finds inspiration and incorporates it into his writing.
After his speech, students asked Tóibín several questions revolving around his approach to creativity and ways to develop narratives that interest all sorts of readers.

Later in the day, Tóibín met with parents, alumni, and friends of Seven Hills at The Lightwell at North by Hotel Covington.

During the event, he discussed the responsibilities and challenges of writers and reiterated the power of listening and conversing with others as essential sources of inspiration for crafting rich, nuanced stories.
His insights offered a compelling perspective on the literary world and the art of storytelling.
Thank you to the Books for Lunch co-chairs Leesa Pruett Ceron and Elizabeth Stock and the Books for Lunch planning committee for all the hard work that made the event possible.
