Looking Ahead to a Future at Seven Hills

December 17, 2024

Eighth graders race to complete puzzles to get points for Upper School Swarms during preview day.

Fifth and eighth graders got a glimpse of their Seven Hills futures during the Middle and Upper School preview days.

The fifth graders toured the Hillsdale Campus as Middle Schoolers with a scavenger hunt that took them through Kalnow Gym, the Young Family Library, and The Schiff Center. They visited Middle School classes and stopped by rehearsals for the chorus and instrumental ensembles.

“The greater independence, responsibility, freedom, and larger campus let our soon-to-be Middle Schoolers see that this next step in their Seven Hills journey is something to look forward to with open anticipation, fun, and excitement,” Head of Middle School Bill Waskowitz said. “We want our Middle School community to be one where exploration and excitement rule the day!”

Exploration and excitement defined the eighth graders’ experienced as they previewed the Upper School as well. Student government welcomed the eighth graders with a trivia game that divided them into Swarms, the Upper School’s intergrade community groups, and tested their knowledge on life at Upper.

Throughout the days, the eighth graders attended classes, experienced clubs, had lunch with Upper School leaders, learned about the Experiential Learning program, and got to know Upper School students.
