Squash Program Adds Two World Class Coaches
October 7, 2024
Squash has been a beloved and fast-growing sport at Seven Hills since it started as a student led effort in 2021. Now with six teams across the Middle and Upper School and home courts in the Wyant Family Squash Center, Seven Hills is continuing to enhance the program by bringing in two new varsity coaches Glen Wilson and Kingsley Amoako.
A member of the New Zealand Squash Hall of Fame and a Commonwealth Games gold medalist as a player and a coach, Wilson is eager to bring his passion for squash to Seven Hills.
“Joining Seven Hills is an excited opportunity to bring my international experience to a program with so much potential. I’m passionate about mentoring young athletes and helping them reach new levels of performance. I can’t wait to get on the court and help this community build on its strong foundation while fostering a love for the game,” Wilson said.
Amoako is coming to Seven Hills after working as a squash professional in Charleston, South Carolina. While playing collegiately at St. Lawrence University, Amoako and the team finished second in the country. He began his coaching career at StreetSquash in Harlem.
“My goal is to help players not only improve on the court, but also grow as individuals through the lessons squash teaches. I look forward to creating a positive and inspiring environment, where we can all strive to be our best selves,” Amoako said.
