Celebrating Community

Doherty held its first monthly assembly on Sept. 2, which celebrated the Seven Hills value of “commitment to community.” Students shared their definitions of community and welcomed new students and teachers in the Doherty community. As part of Kacey Watkins’ art class, all students learned about community quilts and made a square in their unit’s assigned colors for Doherty’s community quilt that is decorating the Unit III hallway. “Thank you to the whole Doherty art community for contributing and making our quilt look beautiful,” Watkins said at the assembly. Each month the assembly will be focused around one of the Seven Hills values.
