Girls Volleyball to Compete in Sectional Tournament
The Seven Hills varsity volleyball team is looking forward to the postseason and has had a great season so far! The team is 14-2 in the Miami Valley Conference and 18-4 for the season. The Stingers are led by senior captain Mary Ellen Bryans, junior captain Ava Romerill, and sophomore captain Max Creech, who keep the energy up and team focus forward. Sophomore Avani Seshiah is currently leading the Miami Valley Conference in kills with 276 and freshman Meg Yuan is leading the MVC in passing points with 971! The Stingers have the experience and talent to make a run in the postseason. “If we stick to the fundamentals, the rest will come,” said head coach Michelle Cowherd. “Staying in the moment and remaining mentally tough are our goals as the tournament begins.” Last season, the Stingers were sitting at the top of the Gray Division, this year the team was promoted to Scarlet where they quickly became the team to beat once again. Volleyball starts the sectional tournament against North College Hill on Wednesday, Oct. 18 at Mariemont High School.
