Teaching Philosophy
Important skills I want to teach my students
I want students to learn to think for themselves, to communicate their opinions clearly and craft sound arguments, and to discover personal learning strengths and challenges and develop personal learning strategies.
Teaching methods to reach these goals
I employ of variety of teaching styles with my students, among them: discussions, debates, open-ended questions, and simulations.
My favorite projects
We explore many interesting projects, but one of my favorites is the cross-curricular unit with English: “Lord of the Flies” and the Rise of the Nazi party in Germany, power and patterns of human interaction.
What I like best about teaching at Seven Hills
As a teacher at Seven Hills, I value: freedom to do all of the above, the intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm of the students, a professional environment that encourages constant improvement, and the opportunity to work with passionate and skillful colleagues.
