Solar Eclipse at Doherty
Doherty students of all ages peers in awe at the solar eclipse, after learning about it in science teacher Robin Taylor-Fabe’s class. Taylor-Fabe taught students about eclipses and when and how they occur. Seventh graders and their teacher Kristen Suer from the Middle School visited Unit III to perform a skit and answer questions about the eclipse. On the day, students in first through fifth grade gathered at the upper playground to take part in eclipse activities, organized by Taylor-Fabe. The students viewed the eclipse and observed the changes in light and temperature. The youngest Doherty students experienced the eclipse safely inside, watching NASA’s livestream.
